Over the past few months we’ve had over 100 members join the team with a huge variety of vehicles.
If your vehicle is over 25 years, you could be eligible for a club permit. Club permits allow you to drive or ride your vehicle for up to 90 days every year. You don’t have to attend club events and you can use your 90 days as you wish. A 90 day permit is only $147.50, saving you upwards of $669 per year over full registration. Most insurance companies will offer better rates for vehicles on club permit, too.
You must be a financial member of VicRoads approved club, such as Machine Social Co and you must provide a current RWC to the club. There’s some simple paper work to fill out and then you simply head to VicRoads and they’ll give you your club permit and plates over the counter and you’re good to go!
When driving your vehicle on club permit you must fill out a log book (provided by VicRoads). This must be done each day you use the vehicle and must be carried with you. Failure to do so will result in an unregistered vehicle fine of $793.
The club permit scheme is an amazing system, that encourages people to use their classic vehicles.
