SKILL UP, MENTOR & KEEP KOMMUNE WRENCHING
Become a Volunteer
Kustom Kommune is a Social Enterprise where we aim to create a safe, welcoming and accessible space for everyone: no matter their age, background, gender or moto-knowledge. By volunteering a small piece of your time to help keep the space operational, not only will you learn new skills and help shape the future of motorcycling, you’ll be making a direct impact on a very social community. It’s not just about motorcycles at Kommune, it’s about creating lasting networks and providing a safe, ‘third space’ for many.
Some of our volunteers are mechanical geniuses and some are still learning the basics – you got to start somewhere, after all. Regardless of your experience, we welcome everyone to get involved. We’ll always have knowledgeable volunteers around and we’re always willing to support those that want to learn.
Kustom Kommune doesn’t employ any staff; our space, major events and managing Kommittee are all run by a passionate team of volunteers. This enables us to keep the cost of participation low and invest profit back into the community.
On average our volunteer team contributes over 6000 hrs each year to ensure our members and the greater moto-community have a place to wrench, ride and connect.
We are looking for Volunteers that are available to assist in managing the day-to-day of the space on Tuesday – Sunday 10am – 9pm. Most volunteers will commit to one 3 – 4 hour shift per week.
Workshop Volunteers are responsible for:
- Meeting and greeting Members and walk ins
- Introducing potential members to the space
- Ensuring that the workshop is well maintained
- Checking that member policies are being adhered to
- Assisting members where needed or connecting members with Volunteers that are skilled
- Wrenching on Kommune Project bikes in down time
Our goal is to pair skilled and unskilled volunteers together, to further build the knowledge and skillset of our community.
The following shifts are available – double shifts are welcome if they fit your schedule.
Regular – 6 months min commitment
Unskilled with a willingness to learn

Feel like you have more to offer? We are also offering Kommittee roles. The Kommittee will make up the team that both strategises and implements projects that will directly impact the organisation and its members.
