Chain & Sprocket Maintenance Course is a hands-on workshop where we work on YOUR bike, alongside others.

Course time: 6:30pm – 10:30pm
Class size: 5
Course type: Working on your own bike.

It’s all come down to this- Your bike harnesses the power of wind, fire and lightning, let’s not mess it all up with a shoddy driveline!

Bring YOUR bike in and not just change your chain and sprockets, but learn how to do it the right way, what to look out for, how to complete ongoing maintenance, all alongside a professional.

Learn how the drive chain and gearing works and how to inspect and maintain chain and sprockets. We’ll assist you through a complete front sprocket, rear sprocket and chain replacement on the night.

This workshop will cover the following topics as required:

  • How to inspect your chain and sprockets
  • Ongoing maintenance and intervals – tightening, cleaning and lubing your chain
  • How sprockets affect gearing
  • Replace front sprocket
  • Replace rear sprocket
  • Replace chain
  • Wheel alignment
  • Good practices and what to look out for

This is an introductory, hands-on workshop, where a trainer will work alongside you and a few other riders to complete the service. Roll on in, have a coffee or beer, and get wrenching!

If you are not sure whether your motorcycle is ready for new chain/sprockets or not, please swing past and we’ll check it out! (at no cost, of course!).

You WILL need parts for this workshop, we can do this for you, or you can source your own.

Parts for a typical 80’s – 00’s Japanese Motorcycle are approximately (give or take):

  • Sprockets – $100
  • Chain – $130
  • Take home clean and lube kit $45
  • KK Members get 10% off all parts and consumables

This Mechanic Course is limited to 5 people and is the perfect way to learn how to tackle a chain and sprocket swap on your own in the future.

*Unfortunately this class is not suitable for Big Twin Harley-Davidsons.

Drinks and snacks provided.
